This month has been more successful then I thought it was going to be. I got phone numbers from all "BIGGER" (more popular) preschools/daycares in the Powell area. Last Friday I talked to Lynn Easum about getting in touch with her and talking more about how often they have to deal with DFS and what precautions they have to take to keep the children that they take care of safe. Next week I will be setting up a time and date that will be convenient to both of us so I can get all the information that I will need to have a completed project. As the weeks progress keeps going to a high I will be collecting more information from all the preschools/daycares in Powell that I am able to get.

20% project: 2/21/2014

Today I will be finding out if I can make some appointments with several day cares/pre-schools. And get more information on the percentage of how many times DFS is called in a yead for young children and if that takes an effect on how they act when they are in their teen years.

20% project

This week I will have to make a bigger effort to find more information on why DFS doesn't get more involved with they are contacted by preschools about harm that is going to to one of the children that they care for daily.
The research I found this week was that the only way they really get involved is when something really serious happens. Which is sad when the prices to go through all of it isn't as much as the people think it is. The price does vary but the most expensive price I saw was just over $800. To some people that may seem like a lot but when it comes to younger children it's worth it because in the end they will end up on the low risk or high risk of teens to get in trouble.

For or against raising minimum wage

I am for raising minimum wage to $9.00 I think that if you raise it anymore then $9.00 small jobs will be forced to have to cut their part time workers. Pew Research Center says that 71% of the people wanted to increase minimum wage.

          http://www.dol.gov/oasam/programs/history/reich/reports/pay.htm
Says that many people rely on minimum wage for their living. If they had the chance to make more money every two weeks or once a month they wouldn't have to worry as much about having enough money to take care of their families and would have the moneu to start a small family.

63 percent of minimum-wage workers are adults age 20 or over.
(Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics) everyone says that the only people working for minimum wage are teenagers which is a myth. Everyone who starts working usually starts out at minimus wage unless they start at a nursing job or a really high up job.
